I was never the type of person to write down what homework I had to do or chores needed to be done. Recently, I've been feeling the need to finally pull everything together and get organized. I managed to gather ways I stay organized in my life and obviously wanted to share them with you!
I love to use calendars. I write down what plans I have that day or throughout the month to make sure non of my plans over lap or keep track of my projects.
I use two calendars: a book and the calendar on my laptop.
I do all my school work on my laptop and tend to use the calendar that comes with it. I love the way it works and how you can customize the colours for certain events and easily move from the monthly view, to the weekly view, to the daily view of your plans.
When it comes to books or calendar journals, I am very picky. I like to have dividers, and a different week on each page with the view of the entire month before the weekly pages start. Somehow, I found one that works for me and carry it wherever I go when I don't have my laptop.
These are my addiction! If I need to remind myself to do something for the next day and such, I will write them down on my sticky notes and place them on my desk or bathroom mirror where I know I will see it in the mornings. Seriously, try it out!
Never Label Files "Random"
This is more on the 'stay tidy' side. I used to do this a lot. I would create documents or photo folders on my laptop entitled "random" and chuck anything that doesn't fit with my other files in there. Big mistake. Within a week of throwing those documents or photos in there, you will forget they even existed. So make the titles specific and even smaller files for your other docs.
Hope this helps make your lives a little easier and organized!
